OALC organized a Mid-Autumn Festival luncheon to bring together incoming scholars and students under our Hong Kong Scholars Programme, Mainland and Taiwan Visiting Scholar and Student Programmes on 20 September, enjoying the harmonious festive atmosphere in the University.
Prof. Franky Chan, School of Biomedical Sciences and Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China), joined the luncheon with Hong Kong Scholars from East China University of Science and Technology, Jiangsu University, Nankai University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, scholars from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, South China Normal University and Taiyuan University of Technology, and students from East China Normal University and Sichuan University. Participants shared their experience in the University as well as their teaching and learning outcomes in Hong Kong.
To forge academic exchange and collaboration between CUHK and its cross-strait partners, OALC launched the Mainland and Taiwan Visiting Scholar Programme in 2008; and Mainland and Taiwan Visiting Student Programme in 2011. The Office also started coordinating the Hong Kong Scholars Programme in 2015, and receiving postgraduate students under the Joint Supervision of Postgraduate Student Programme in 2016.
