Mr. Gong Guoping, Deputy Director General of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, led a 7-member delegation to the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 27 April 2012. The delegation comprised representatives from Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Commission.

The delegation met with Prof. Henry Wong, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK; Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Director of School of Biomedical Sciences; Prof. Lin Hui, Director of Institute of Space and Earth Information Science; and Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China). The delegates received updates on the University's recent development during the meeting. They next toured the Institute of Space and Earth Information Science and MOE Key Laboratories for Regenerative Medicine (CUHK- Jinan University) where they received further information on the latest research projects in earth science and regenerative medicine.

Mr. Gong was impressed by the achievements of the University and he encouraged CUHK to strengthen its collaboration with universities and research institutes in Guangdong so as to make joint contribution to the development of the region.
