Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) Visits CUHK
Dr. Wang Zhigang, Minister of the Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, led a 10-member delegation to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 21 September. The delegation was accompanied by representatives from the Education, Science and Technology Department, Liaison Office of The Central People's Government in the HKSAR and the Innovation and Technology Commission, HKSAR.
The delegates were warmly welcomed by senior members of CUHK including Professor Rocky S. Tuan, President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Benjamin Wah, Provost and Professor Fanny Cheung, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, with the accompany of academic and administrative members including Prof. Leung Ping Chung, Director of State Key Laboratory of Research on Bioactivities and Clinical Applications of Medicinal Plants; Prof. Lam Hon Ming, Director of State Key Laboratory of Agrobiotechnology; Prof. Clara Lau, Associate Director of State Key Laboratory of Research on Bioactivities and Clinical Applications of Medicinal Plants; Dr. Lee Chi Ming, Director of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services; and Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China), for exchange in latest scientific research.
Professor Tuan introduced the University's latest development to the delegation while academic members presented their recent research achievements during the meeting. The delegates were then led to the State Key Laboratory of Translational Oncology and the State Key Laboratory of Digestive Disease, where they had exchange with academic and research members of the laboratories. The visit facilitated the development of linkage and enable a better understanding of the University's research developments as well as national policy in scientific research, enhancing communication for further advancement of collaboration between the MOST and the University.

Delegation of Municipal Government of Shenzhen
Dr. Wang Weizhong, Party Secretary of Shenzhen and Mr. Chen Rugui, Mayor of Shenzhen, led a 14-member delegation to visit The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 21 September to understand the latest development of Faculty of Medicine and relevant State Key Laboratories of CUHK.
CUHK senior members including Professor Rocky S. Tuan, President and Vice-Chancellor; Professor Fok Tai-fai and Professor Chan Wai-yee, Pro-Vice-Chancellors; Professor Wong Suk-ying, Associate Vice-President; and Professor Francis Chan, Faculty Dean of Medicine, warmly welcomed the delegation. Other representatives from Faculty of Medicine included Prof. Rossa Chiu, Associate Dean (Development); Prof. Samuel Wong, Assistant Dean (Education); Prof. Ronald Ma, Assistant Dean (Institutional Affairs); Prof. Wong Chi Sang, Assistant Dean (Alumni Affairs) and Prof. Li Man Chim Albert Martin, Assistant Dean (Student Affairs), as well as Ms Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China).
The delegation visited the State Key Laboratory of Translational Oncology and the State Key Laboratory of Digestive Disease to understand the latest advancement and achievement in respective research areas. Senior members of the University also introduced the recent development of CUHK during their visit. The visit deepened mutual understanding and paved the way for further exchange and collaboration directions between CUHK and Shenzhen in medical science.

Deputy Party Secretary of Lanzhou University Visits CUHK
Prof. Wu Guosheng, Deputy Party Secretary of Lanzhou University visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 26 September 2018 with a 5-member delegation. The delegates met with CUHK members including Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Edwin Chan, Associate Vice-President; and Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China). Both sides discussed collaboration opportunities and devised plans in bilateral scholars and students interflow, and administrative personnel training.
During the meeting, CUHK representatives introduced the University's latest development to the delegates, while Prof. Wu also gave updates on academic interflow and administrative training in Lanzhou University. Prof. Wu expressed his hope to encourage in-depth exchange and set out the blueprints of collaboration plans. The visit enhanced linkage and friendship between CUHK and Lanzhou University, laying directions for future collaboration in various aspects.

Visit of Vice-President of Nanjing University
Prof. Wang Zhenlin, Vice President of Nanjing University (NJU) led a delegation to The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 27 September. Meetings were held to introduce the University's latest development and discuss on further collaboration between NJU and CUHK. The delegates were received by Prof. Wong Suk-ying, Associate Vice-President of CUHK; Prof. Lutz-Christian Wolff, Dean of Graduate School; Ms. Carol Chiu, Director of Information Technology Services Centre; and Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China). At the meeting, Professor Wong recognized the close collaborative relationship with Nanjing University, which has yielded fruitful results. She expressed that in the hope of maintaining productive partnership, the scope of collaboration between the two universities shall be expanded with more synergetic efforts and specific plans for further implementation.
