He was joined by senior CUHK colleagues Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor Designate; Prof. Benjamin Wah, Provost; Pro-Vice-Chancellors Prof. Kenneth Young, Prof. Jack Cheng, Prof. Michael Hui; Associate-Pro-Vice-Chancellors Prof. Fung Tung and Prof. Xu Yangsheng; Prof. Wong Ching-ping, Dean of Engineering and Prof. Samuel Sun, Director of the State Key Laboratory (SKL) of Agrobiotechnology (CUHK).
CUHK representatives treated the guests to an introduction to the development of the University and briefly introduced the work and the latest research development in Nano Electronics and Photonics, and Agrobiotechnology. Members of the delegation in return introduced the work of their research in the CAS Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology and the Shanghai Synchrotron. The representatives from both sides used the time to exchange ideas on topics that interested both parties. After the discussion, the delegation visited the Institute of Space and Earth Information Science and met with the Institute Director Prof. Lin Hui to receive updates on the research work in earth information science.
Chinese Academy of Sciences is one of the major strategic partners of CUHK. There have been a variety of collaborative projects conducted between the two parties. The visit strengthened existing collaboration and further consolidated ties of both sides.
