Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony
|
The Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony for CW Chu College was held successfully on 25 November 2011. The ceremony, attended by about 150 friends, mentors, Chu Scholars, College Fellows and teachers, marked the commencement of the college construction work and turned a new page in the College's history. Officiating at the ceremony were Mr David Chu, Director, CW Chu Foundation; Dr Peter Yip, Member, Planning Committee, CW Chu College, CUHK; Dr Vincent HC Cheng, Chairman of the Council, CUHK; Prof Joseph JY Sung, Vice-Chancellor, CUHK; and Prof Kenneth Young, Master, CW Chu College, CUHK.

Campus Planning and Development
|
The University Council at its 3rd meeting (2011) held on 29 November 2011 approved the naming of a hostel block of CW Chu College as Ina Ho Chan Un Chan Building, in recognition of the generous donation from Dr Ina Ho Chan Un Chan for the development of CW Chu College.

CW Chu College Scholars' Roundtable Lunch
|
The Scholars' Roundtable Lunch is an informal luncheon series organized by the College Life Committee and aims to enhance the interaction and bonding among College Fellows and teacher affiliates. A College Fellow or teacher will be invited to give a short presentation on a selected theme at each gathering, followed by casual exchanges and discussions. At the First Scholars' Roundtable Lunch held on 20 Oct 2011, Prof Jette Hansen Edwards, Chair of the College Life Committee, spoke on "How and why I became an applied linguist". At the Second Roundtable held on 9 December 2011, Mr Terence Lam spoke on "Lunch with Functional Music".

Light Programme Review on College General Education
|
Prof Kenneth Young, Prof Stephen Hall and Prof Wong Suk Ying, Chairperson and Members of the CW Chu College General Education Committee, attended the Light Programme Review on College General Education organized by the Academic and Quality Section (AQS) on 8 December 2011. The programme design for the new normative four-year curriculum was discussed and examined during the Review.

School Outreach Activities for HKDSE Students
|
Fellows will introduce the College System of CUHK and the latest development of CW Chu College in several outreach activities organized by the CUHK Office of Admissions and Financial Aid.

Vice-Chancellor's Cup Tournament 2012
|
Morningside College, CW Chu College, Wu Yee Sun College and Lee Woo Sing College have formed one joint college team, namely "Fantastic 4" (同心), for participation in the various types of ball games in the Vice-Chancellor's Cup Tournament to be held in January and February 2012. Members of CW Chu College are welcome to register interest with Miss Alice Tang (alicet@cuhk.edu.hk) by 13 January 2012 (Friday).
