The 68th Founders' Day Activities
|
We will celebrate the 68th Founders' Day of the College and the birthday of Confucius from September to early October. The College Biweekly Assembly on September 13 marks the Opening Ceremony of the whole series of activities, while the Scholarship Presentation Ceremony, Tea Reception, Naming Ceremony for New Asia College Gymnasium cum New Asia Basketball Friendly Game, Banquet for a Thousand People and Carnival Night will be held on September 29.
Staff and student representatives will compete in sports competitions for the Heads' Trophies, while the 17th "Happy Run" will be held on October 7 on the College campus.

A. New Asia College Cultural Talks
New Asia College Cultural Talks began in 1950. Speakers were mostly the teachers from the College including prestigious scholars from the Mainland like Mr .Ch'ien Mu, Mr. Tang Chun-I and Mr. Tchang Pi-kai. They aim to promote Chinese culture, academic and cultural exchanges between East and West, peace and well-being of the human race. Jointly organized by New Asia College and the New Asia College Alumni Association, co-organized by New Asia Middle School, "New Asia College Cultural Talks" holds three to four talks each year. Alumni Reunions 2018
|
Reunion gatherings for class 1978, 1988, 1998 and 2008 are coming up in 2018. These reunions are a valuable opportunity for alumni to recapture happy moments of their university lives, share experiences with each other, and give advice on the future development of the College.
All alumni of Class 1978, 1988, 1998 & 2008 and their family members are welcome to join these joyful occasions. For enquiries, please contact the College Office.

New translation of The Academic Code of New Asia College: Philosophy and Principles
|
We offer our heartfelt thanks to Professor Lee Hun-tak, Thomas of the Department of Linguistics and Modern Languages of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Professor Cheung Hung Nin, Professor Emeritus of University of California, Berkeley and the Emeritus Professor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Dr. Scott Davis, who re-translated and edited The Academic Code of New Asia College: Philosophy and Principles lately. The New version of The Academic Code of New Asia College: Philosophy and Principles has been uploaded to the college website (www.na.cuhk.edu.hk) and will be published in the New Asia College Handbook 2017-18 during the new semester. Teachers, Students and alumni are encouraged to consult it.

New Asia College Cultural Talks 2016/17 3rd talk
|
"New Asia College Cultural Talks" are jointly organized by New Asia College and the New Asia College Alumni Association, co-organized by New Asia Middle School. The third talk was held on 27 May 2017. It was our honor to welcome Mr. Heung Shu Fai as our speaker. Mr. Heung is an outstanding alumnus of our university, he is also a veteran banker, entrepreneur and experienced journalist. The topic of this talk was "My Perception of New Asia". It was moderated by Prof. Henry NC Wong, the Head of New Asia College. The lecture was very well received by the public.
Mr. Heung led the audience through the history of New Asia College and enabled them to reach a deeper understanding of the College. Stepping inside the stories he shared was like stepping into another time. This talk received an enthusiastic response and inspired fruitful discussion between the speaker and the audience.

Yale-China/ Goldman Sachs Business Challenge
|
The seventh annual "Yale-China/ Goldman Sachs Business Challenge" was held at the College on 26 May 2017. The program, which is jointly organized by the College, Yale-China Association and Goldman Sachs, aims at encouraging future business leaders to devise creative solutions to social problems.
This year, four teams from the College were selected to enter the final round of competition. The theme of this year was "Hong Kong: Regional and Global" and students were required to come up with an innovative business plan, which addressed a social problem in our society.
Staff of Goldman Sachs served on the adjudicating panel and shared their expertise and experience with our students.

New Asia College/ Yale University Summer Community Service Exchange
|
New Asia College and Yale-China Association jointly established the above program in academic year 2002/2003. The main objective is to bring together students from different regions for cultural exchange, and to understand different approaches in the provision of community/public services. Dr. Wong King Kwok, Raymond generously sponsors this program.

New Asia College/ Hertford College of Oxford University Study Abroad and Cultural Exploration Programme 2017
|
Every year, the program "New Asia College/ Hertford College of Oxford University Study Abroad and Cultural Exploration Programme" attracts a large number of student applications, which makes it very competitive.
The fifteen selected students attended a three-week program in Hertford College from 9-29 July 2017. The major objective of the program is to enhance the language proficiency of students and to give them first hand exposure to English culture.

Summer Study Abroad at Cambridge and UC Berkeley
|
This scheme was established in academic year 2012/13. It aims at providing students with an overseas study opportunity at a renowned university, to enrich and broaden their learning experiences and deepen their understanding of different cultures.
Twenty-two students of the College have been selected to attend the summer schools at Cambridge University or UC Berkeley from May to August this year.
This scheme is sponsored by Mr. Michael Wong Scholarships and The KJ & HK Charitable Trust Overseas Exchange Scholarships.

New Asia College/ Hunan University Summer Exchange Programme
|
This program encourages cultural exchange between Hong Kong and mainland students. Twenty participants from Hunan University visited our College from 12 to 19 July 2017. While in Hong Kong, participants joined a number of activities, including visits to various units at CUHK, government offices and non-governmental organizations as well as attending student functions.
New Asia students then paid a reciprocal visit on 27 July 2017 to Hunan University in Changsha before heading for a remote village to teach students from less-advantaged families. This program is generously funded by the "C.C. Wu Cultural & Education Foundation Fund".

The Seminar on Traditional Chinese Culture 2017
|
The "Seminar on Traditional Chinese Culture" has been held since 2000 and is organized by the Su-Shu-Lou Cultural & Educational Foundation, New Asia College, and the Traditional Chinese Culture Research Council. The Seminar is co-organized by the High School Education Committee of the Chinese Society of Education, and implemented by New Asia Middle School. This seminar is generously sponsored by the Su-Shu-Lou Cultural & Educational foundation, and Sin Wai Kin foundation Limited.

The 15th Seminar on Chinese Moral Education
|
The Seminar on Chinese Moral Education aims to promote traditional Chinese virtues and moral education to the younger generations and has been co-organized by New Asia College, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Beijing Oriental Morality Institute since 2002. In summer every year, a group of primary and secondary school principals, teachers and education professionals from various regions of the Mainland attend a series of seminars, discussion forums and visits related to moral education during the 8-day program at the College. The participants are from two groups: The Primary School Group and the Secondary School Group, with around thirty participants in each group. The two groups are generously sponsored by the Tin Ka Ping Foundation and Ms. Maisy Ho Chinese Culture Activity Fund respectively.

The 30-year Reunion of Class 1987
|
The 30-year Reunion of Class 1987 was held on 20 May 2017. More than 110 alumni and their families participated in the reunion. They visited around the CUHK campus, joined the tree-planting ceremony, took group photos, and visited hostels in search of their old memories.
Over 30 alumni gathered at Yun Chi Hsien at 3pm. Although there was a rain shower in the morning, the participants were still very excited about the campus tour around CUHK. The bus tour introduced the latest development of the university. Alumni were also introduced to the facilities for living on the campus such as various new restaurants. After the tour, College Head Prof. Wong joined them for photo taking, and then held together the tree-planting ceremony to celebrate their graduation of 30 years. Following their campus tour, our guests reminisced about their hostel lives when they visited the hostels.
