Alumni Reunions
|
Reunion gatherings for classes 2006 and 1976 will be held from August to November 2016. The reunion serves as a valuable opportunity for alumni to recapture happy moments of their university life, share recent experiences with each other, and give valuable advice to facilitate the College's development.

Mr. Sham Kin-fun chairs The New Asia Lectures on Contemporary China 2015/16 (third Lecture)
|
China's cultural industry is rising rapidly, alongside its economy. The College therefore held the third lecture of "New Asia Lectures on Contemporary China" in the Sir Run Run Shaw Hall, CUHK, on 4 March this year. It was our honor to invite Mr. Sham Kin-fun, a renowned movie producer, to give a talk on "The Hong Kong movie industry and its role in China." Mr. Sham discussed the prosperity and decline of Hong Kong cinema, and the impact of the rise of the Chinese movie industry. The lecture was hosted by Mr. Fung Ka-ming, senior lecturer of Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Faculty of Film and Television.

Prof. Hung-nin Samuel Cheung chairs The 29th Ch'ien Mu Lecture in History and Culture
|
The "Ch'ien Mu Lecture in History and Culture" is organized to enhance academic and cultural exchanges. Ever since Mr. Ch'ien Mu chaired the first lecture in 1978, it has become a well-respected event within academia, and invited speakers are all distinguished scholars in different fields of Chinese Culture. Since 2013, the lecture series has been endowed by the Mr. Chan Chi-sun Chinese Culture Fund.

The Second "Yen Kwo-Yung Lecture in Life Sciences" was co-organized by New Asia College and School of Life Sciences, aimed at promoting the understanding, essence, values and application of life sciences in society among the public and students.

Prof. Xu Xiaodong chairs the third talk of New Asia College Cultural Talks 2015/16
|
Co-organized by New Asia College, New Asia College Alumni Association and New Asia Middle School, the third talk of New Asia College Cultural Talks 2015/16 was successfully completed on 23 April 2016 at the hall of the New Asia Middle School. It was our honor to have invited Prof. Xu Xiaodong, Associate Director of the Art Museum and Associate Professor (by courtesy) of the Fine Arts Department, the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The topic was "Emperor Qianlong and the jades of his reign" with Ms. Wong Wai-ting, Principal of New Asia Middle School, as the moderator.

New Asia College/ Yale University Student Exchange Programme
|
New Asia College and Yale University have been jointly organizing this exchange program since 1993. The major objective of the program is to enhance students' understanding of social, cultural and scientific issues in the two regions. Dr. Raymond Wong has generously supported the program since 2015.

New Asia College Mentorship Programme 2015/16 Reunion Dinner
|
The Mentorship Programme 2015/16 Reunion dinner was held at Yun Chi Hsien at 7pm, 19 March 2016. The College would like to take this opportunity to thank all mentors who generously gave their effort to mentoring their mentees and also congratulates mentees who learnt from the programme. Among the 103 mentors this year, 40% are new mentors. This reflects that more and more alumni are concerned about the development of students. New and experienced mentors gathered together that night and exchanged ideas on helping the mentees. They also provided many good ideas to the College.

New Asia Young Scholar Scheme 2015/16 -A Final Review
|
New Asia Young Scholars Scheme aims at promoting whole-person development among our students, empowering their passion for Chinese culture, and equipping them with qualities such as sensitivity to social issues and leadership skills. Mr. Roland Lam and Ms. Wong Oi Yee Michell have generously supported the scheme since 2014.

Lunar New Year Party 2016
|
Organized by Staff Association of New Asia College (NACSA) the party was held on 19 February 2016 at Yun Chi Hsien, New Asia College. Hundreds of colleagues celebrated the Lantern Festival together. The chairperson of NACSA, Dr. Ng Chi-sun, gave his warmest greetings to all members and invited everyone to enjoy the delicious POON CHOI(盆菜). Professor Henry N.C. Wong, Head of the College also attended the party and shared the happy gathering with staff. NACSA had prepared about 80 lucky draw prizes, including a tablet. The party ended with much joy and laughter. We wished everyone a healthy and prosperous new year and hoped to see all the staff at the party next year.

2016 New Year's Gala
|
In the beginning of the year of Monkey, New Asia College and New Asia College Alumni Association co-organized the 2016 New Year's Gala at Choi Fook Royal Banquet on 26 February 2016. Over 300 friends, alumni and students participated.

Establishment of 2016 Class Coordinators
|
To strengthen the connection between alumni and the College, we have established a network of Graduating Class Coordinators since 2013. A number of 2016 New Asia graduates have been invited to serve as Class Coordinators with the goals of building and strengthening the connection between the College and alumni by distributing and promoting college events as well as supporting college's development.
