The 69th Founders' Day Activities
|
The celebrations of the 69th Founders' Day of the College and the birthday of Confucius will be held from late August to mid-October. The activities will begin with the Opening Ceremony on 30 August, followed by the Founder's Day cum Scholarship Presentation Ceremony to be held at Sir Run Run Hall on 28 September. A Tea Reception, a Banquet for a Thousand People and a Carnival Night will also be held on the New Asia campus on the same day.
Apart from various sports competitions between staff and student representatives for the Heads' Trophies, the 18th "Happy Run" will be held on 6 October on the College campus.

A. New Asia College Cultural Talks
Originated in 1950, the New Asia College Cultural Talks, with speakers being mostly College teaching staff members including prestigious scholars from the Mainland like Mr. Ch'ien Mu, Mr. Tang Chun-i and Mr. Tchang Pi-kai, aimed to encourage the public to learn about Chinese culture and global academic knowledge, and to consider the future of humanity. Jointly organised by the New Asia College and the New Asia College Alumni Association (NACAA) and co-organised by the New Asia Middle School, "New Asia College Cultural Talks" comrpises a total of three to four talks each year. 40th Year Reunion Dinner of Class 1978 (Family members are welcome)
Reunion gatherings for class 1978 will be held in late 2018. The reunion serves as a valuable opportunity for alumni to recapture happy moments of their university life, share recent experiences with each other, and give valuable advice to facilitate the future development of the College.

Third Talk of New Asia College Cultural Talks 2017/18
|
The Third Talk of the "New Asia College Cultural Talks", jointly organised by New Asia College and the NACAA and co-organised by New Asia Middle School, was held at the school hall of New Asia Middle School on 5 May 2018. Dr. Louis NG Chi-wa, Deputy Director of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, was our speaker. The talk was titled "Palace Museum: Untold Stories", and was moderated by Mr. Wong Ho-chiu, Trustee of New Asia College. The lecture was very well received by the public.
At the talk, Dr Ng displayed many images while relating vivid stories of the Imperial Palace and depicting the cultural scenery behind. Participants were deeply absorbed in the lecture. Dr Ng also introduced a series of upcoming museum activities open for the public. The lecture received an enthusiastic response and inspired fruitful discussion between the speaker and the audience at the Q&A session.

New Asia College/ Yale University Summer Community Service Exchange
|
The New Asia College/ Yale University Summer Community Service Exchange programme, jointly launched by the New Asia College and the Yale-China Association in the academic year 2002/03, aims to facilitate mutual learning and exchanges between students with different cultural backgrounds from Hong Kong and the United States, and to enable them to understand the approaches and developments in community/ public services in various regions. Dr. Raymond Wong King-kwok generously sponsors this programme.

New Asia College/ Hertford College of Oxford University Study Abroad and Cultural Exploration Programme
|
Given that the Hertford College of Oxford University is renowned worldwide, the New Asia College/ Hertford College of Oxford University Study Abroad and Cultural Exploration Programme attracts a large number of student applications every year, and the competition for places is fierce.
The fifteen selected students this year attended a three-week exchange programme in Hertford College from 8 to 28 July 2018. During their stay, our students enhanced their English proficiency through various means, and had the opportunity to learn about local culture, customs and history from multiple perspectives. The students could also meet with teaching staff and students of Oxford University for mutual learning and exchange, while gaining a deeper understanding of the lifestyle of each other.
Thanks to the funding support of the Mrs. Chou Wen Hsien and Ms. Yim Wan Chun Ina Scholarships, each participating student received a scholarship covering part of their tuition and air passage.

Summer Study Abroad at Cambridge and University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley)
|
Launched in the academic year 2012/13, the Summer Study Abroad Programme at Cambridge and UC Berkeley aims to enable students to enrich their learning experiences, broaden their horizons, and deepen their understanding of different cultures through attending summer schools of renowned overseas universities. This year, 20 students of the College have been selected to receive sponsorships and participate in the programme from May to August.
The College would like to express its sincere gratitude to Mr. Michael Wong Scholarships and the KJ & HK Charitable Trust Overseas Exchange Scholarships, the sponsors of the programmes at Cambridge and at UC Berkeley respectively.

New Asia College/ Hunan University Summer Exchange Programme
|
This programme encourages cultural exchanges between Hong Kong and mainland students while depending their understanding of each other's culture and society. A total of 17 teachers and students of Hunan University visited our College from 11 to 18 July 2018. While in Hong Kong, these participants visited various university units, government offices and social service institutions/ organisations, and attended student exchange functions to learn more about Hong Kong. New Asia students then paid a reciprocal visit on 26 July 2018 to Hunan University in Changsha before heading to a remote village to help with teaching children from underprivileged families.

The Seminar on Traditional Chinese Culture 2018
|
To promote high school traditional Chinese cultural education in Mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, the "Seminar on Traditional Chinese Culture" is held at the New Asia College every summer since 2000, and is organised by the Su-Shu-Lou Cultural & Educational Foundation, the New Asia College, and the Traditional Chinese Culture Research Council; co-organised by the High School Education Committee of the Chinese Society of Education; and implemented by New Asia Middle School. This seminar is generously sponsored by the Su-Shu-Lou Cultural & Educational Foundation and Sin Wai Kin Foundation Limited.

The 16th Seminar on Chinese Moral Education
|
Co-organised by the New Asia College of CUHK and the Beijing Oriental Morality Institute since 2002, the Seminar on Chinese Moral Education has been promoting Chinese traditional virtues and moral education to the younger generations. Every summer, a group of primary and secondary school principals, teachers and education professionals from various regions of the Mainland attend a series of seminars, discussion forums, visits and exchanges with local school principals and teachers during a 8-day themed programme in Hong Kong. The Primary School Group and the Secondary School Group, with over 30 participants each, are generously sponsored by the Tin Ka Ping Foundation and Ms. Maisy Ho Chinese Culture Activity Fund respectively.

The 30th Year Reunion of Class 1988
|
The 30th Year Reunion of Class 1988 was held on 19 May 2018. More than 120 guests, including alumni and their families and friends, revisited the College to join the reunion. They participated in a series of activities, including a CUHK campus tour, a tree-planting ceremony and hostel visits, before joining the dinner banquet. Beside old schoolmates, the alumni also invited a teacher of their times to join their quest for college days memories.
