Higher Diploma Students Shone in Speech Contests |
Giving a speech is one of the ways to build up students' confidence and demonstrate their language proficiency. Ms. Eva Y. K. Lau and Ms. Leung Yuet-hung, our higher diploma students, gave a dazzling example of self-confidence and were awarded 2nd Runner-up and Champion respectively in the World Korean Speech Contest and the Japanese Speech Contest held in July.

4 Top-up Degree Programmes Accredited QF Level 5 |
Four Top-up degree programmes have been accredited at Qualification Framework (QF) Level 5 by The Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications. These programmes, namely Bachelor of Business (Hotel Management), Bachelor of Business (Event Management), Bachelor of Business (Management) and Bachelor of Business (Marketing), are offered by Griffith University, Australia. Among which, Bachelor of Business (Hotel Management) and Bachelor of Business (Event Management) are the first ever programmes of its kind having been accredited at QF Level 5.

ATS Student Won Merit Award in "Lower Carbon, Greener Future" Writing Competition |
Ms. Ngai Man-wai, student of the Higher Diploma in Applied Translation Studies, won the Merit Award in a writing competition titled "Lower Carbon, Greener Future" organised by Ming Pao Daily, Wall Street Institute, Navitas and Dadi Overseas Studies Service Centre. She outshone over a thousand of participants and became one of the ten finalists to give an oral presentation on May 18.

Animation and Creative Media, Ms. Ng Ka-ying, alumna
of the Higher Diploma in Applied Translation Studies, and
Mr. Andy C. K. Liu, lecturer of Languages & Translation
Division, won the Merit Award in the "Literature & Film" Short Video
Competition at the 9th Hong Kong Literature Festival organised by the Hong Kong
Public Libraries of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

Autumn Prospectus is Available |
Our Autumn Prospectus is now available at about 200 distribution points. In this autumn term, the School launches the new "Smart Robot Series" especially for secondary school students. This series of programmes introduce the operations of robot systems, equip students with knowledge of mechanics and teach them how to use Arduino, a visual programming software, to develop their unique robots. Other new courses include "Marketing in China", "Search Engine Marketing – Principles & Tips", "Event & MICE Management – Marketing, Communications and Client-Servicing", "Rapid Game Production Using Unity 3D", "Strategies in Nurturing Creative Children" and "Tour of Heritage Preservation in Hong Kong".

Popular Culture Case Study Competition |
To raise the level of interest and concern in popular culture among secondary students, Language and Translation Division held a Popular Culture Case Study Competition themed "The Development of Popular Culture in Hong Kong". The competition was well received and the Award Presentation Ceremony was held on July 6 at the School's Central Learning Centre. Dr. Ella P. O. Chan, Director of the School, officiated at the Ceremony and awarded students of CCC Heep Woh College the Champion.

Graduation Ceremony for Diploma Programme in Daoist Culture |
33 graduates attended the Graduation Ceremony of the Diploma Programme in Daoist Culture (Cycle 1) held on 28 July at Esther Lee Building, CUHK. We were privileged to have Master Tong Wai-ki, Chairman of the Hong Kong Taoist Association, as the officiating guest at the Ceremony.

Fashion Show |
18 graduates of the Higher Diploma in Fashion Design and Product Development put on a fashion show on July 4 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, showcasing more than 72 creative fashion designs and competing to be the fashion star of the night. Mr. Wong Yuk-ki took home the Champion and the Jeanswest Creativity Award with his "Bio Mutation" collection. Other winners included Ms. Tsang Nga-hei (First Runner-up), Ms. Cheung Chui-man (Second Runner-up and the Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association Best Collection Award) and Mr. Lau Pak-hin (The Hong Kong Chinese Textile Mills Association Best Marketability Award).

Commercial Design Graduation Show |
39 graduates of our Higher Diploma in Commercial Design showcased their graduation projects at a graduate exhibition titled "Design Speaks" held on July 19-23 at the Innovation Centre, Kowloon Tong. Over 400 pieces of work were put on display, ranging from graphic design, packaging, 3D-images to video.

Be active, be healthy – Hon Wai-shing
Our alumnus Mr. Hon Wai-shing, also known as Master Hon, is a firm believer in leading an active and healthy life. He not only talks the talk, he walks the walk. Working at the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, Hong Kong SAR Government, Master Hon strives to promote healthy living in his leisure time outside of work by being a coach for various sports. He is also an advocate for lifelong learning and an active volunteer for many organisations, including the CUSCS Alumni Volunteer Team.
