'Organising the historical records of New Asia College' and 'Promoting Chinese Culture '

In our recent appeal for donations support in December 2012, we have placed the project of the organisation of the historical records of the College and our continual effort in promoting Chinese Culture as our major focus of appeal.

The 9th Thousand-people Banquet of Hong Kong Asia Lions Club

Collaborated with New Asia College, the Thousand-people Banquet organised by the Hong Kong Asia Lions Club was held on 24th November, 2012 on the New Asia College campus. This was the nineth year that the event had been held in New Asia College. There were a total of ninety-nine tables of guests with more than half of the tables were attended by the elderlies.

The 61st Graduation Ceremony

The College's 61st Graduation Ceremony was held on 29 November 2012 at the University Mall.. There were aroung three thousand people attending the ceremony who shared the happiness of our eight hundred graduates this year.

CUHK Alumni Homecoming Day

The 2012 Alumni Homecoming Day organized by the Alumni Affairs Office was held on Sunday, 2 December 2012, which attracted more than five thousand alumni and guests.

The Winter Solstice and Christmas Party

The New Asia College Staff Association organized the annual event for the celebration of the Winter Solstice and Christmas on December 21, 2012 at the staff canteen, Professor Shun Kwong-loi , Head of the College and Mrs. Shun attended the party and shared a happy gathering with staff.

Career Talks of Mentorship Programme

2 Career Talks were held in January 2013 under the 2012-13 Mentorship Programme. The College is grateful for the help of 7 mentors who have kindly agreed to share their professional experience in the respective professions.

Ch'ien Mu Lecture in History and Culture 2013

The Ch'ien Mu Lecture in History and Culture was first established in 1978 with an aim to enhance scholarly and cultural exchange. Distinguished historian or renowned scholar in the field of Chinese culture will be invited to be the speaker Prof. Sun Shu-yue will be the speaker this year. Prof. Sun will deliver 3 public lectures in mid April.

New Asia Lectures on Confucianism

The New Asia College has long been regarded as a place of importance for the learning of Confucianism in the 20th century. Founders of the College, including Mr.  Ch'ien Mu, Mr. Tang Junyi, Mr. Mou Tsungsan and Mr. Xu Fuguan were not only influential in the Chinese academia, but their achievements were also highly recognized around the world.. These renowned scholars not only focus on the study of Confucianism but are very concerned on the development of the contemporary Chinese society and the relationship between China and other foreign countries.

Alumni Reunions

Reunion gathering for class 1973, 1983, 1993 and 2003 will be held in 2013. The reunion serves as a valuable platform for alumni to recapture happy moments of their university life, share with each other their recent experiences, and give valuable advice to facilitate the future development of the College.

Alumni Conveners & Class Coordinators

To further strengthen the communication between alumni and the College, we have initiated the arrangement for New Asia College Alumni Conveners and Class Coordinators.

The Alumni Association of New Asia College, which comprised 12 persons from the first two batches of graduates, was established in February 1954.
