| 【College Updates】Highlights of New Asia Cultural Week | |
Organized by the New Asia College Students' Union (NASU), the New Asia Cultural Week was held in mid-January. A series of workshops were arranged for students, including “Traditional Handcraft Workshop” to introduce flower plague backdrops' crafting techniques, “Cantonese Cultural Workshop” and “Paint Pouring Workshop”, etc. As these activities were well-received by students, extra sessions of some workshops were even arranged. |

| 【College Updates】Upcoming academic lectures of New Asia College | |

(A) The 33rd Ch'ien Mu Lecture in History and Culture [Online]
“The Ch’ien Mu Lecture in History and Culture” was established since 1978. A distinguished scholar will be invited every year to deliver a series of public lectures exploring topics on Chinese history and culture. Starting from 2013, the lecture series is endowed by the Mr. Chan Chi-sun Chinese Culture Fund. This year, the lectures will be held in March. It is our honor to have invited Prof. Leung Yuen-sang as our speaker. Prof. Leung is the Emeritus Professor, Research Professor of Department of History; Director of Research Centre for Contemporary Chinese Culture, Institute of Chinese Studies; Former Head of Chung Chi College; Former Dean of Faculty of Arts in CUHK. The Career Talks Day of the New Asia College Mentorship Programme 2021/22 was successfully held on 15 January. This year, the event was also open to alumni who graduated in recent 5 years. Affected by the COVID-19, the event was held online. Despite the change of format to online, more than 140 students and alumni participated in the event. |

| 【Staff Engagement】Professor Raymond Tong scoops two awards at 9th Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards Ceremony | |
Afiliated to the College, Chairman of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, CUHK and inventor of the exoskeleton robotic hand for stroke rehabilitation “Hand of Hope” Professor Raymond Tong, has been honored with the “Global Ageing Influencers 2021” award at the 9th Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards Ceremony held by the Ageing Asia in Singapore, in recognition of his outstanding achievements in rehabilitation innovations, programmes and services that advance the standard of living for older adults on a global scale. On the same occasion, the “HOPE 4 Care” programme led by Professor Tong’s biomedical engineering research team and the Faculty of Medicine, CUHK, took home the “Best Rehabilitation Programme” award.
