The Young Scholars’ Forum in Chinese Studies 2024, co-organized by The Chinese University of Hong Kong–Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation Asia-Pacific Centre for Chinese Studies (CCK-APC) and the Institute of Chinese Studies (ICS), was held on 23–25 May 2024 at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).

With a history spanning thousands of years, the Silk Road has witnessed the evolution of the languages and dialects used by countries and regions along its route and fostered their contact. The International Symposium on Silk Road Linguistics, organized by T.T. Ng Chinese Language Research Centre (CLRC) of the Institute of Chinese Studies at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), took place on 30–31 May 2024, bringing together nearly a hundred participants to actively discuss linguistics research topics along the Silk Road.

 

The Greater Bay Area Forum on Chinese Grammar was held on 26 June 2024 at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), bringing together scholars from the area to explore a wide range of topics in Chinese grammar by sharing their research findings and insights. The Forum was organized by T.T. Ng Chinese Language Research Centre (CLRC) of the Institute of Chinese Studies at CUHK and co-organized by Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance for Chinese (GHMUAC).

The 10th Inter-Regional Forum on Dialectal Grammar was held on 27–28 June 2024 at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Organized by the T.T. Ng Chinese Language Research Centre (CLRC) of the Institute of Chinese Studies at CUHK, the Forum featured a keynote speech by Prof. Yen-hui Audrey Li (CUHK/University of Southern California). Over 30 presenters were selected through a call for papers to share their findings at the Forum. They are from 15 institutions, including (in alphabetical order) Beijing Language and Culture University, Beijing Normal University, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, CUHK, Fudan University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Hainan Normal University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Jinan University, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Sun Yat-sen University, Xiamen University, and Zhejiang University.
