Celebration Activities for the 65th Anniversary of our College

A series of activities will be held from July 2014 to March 2015 to celebrate the 65th Anniversary of our College. The details are shown below:

New Asia College 65th Anniversary Lecture by Prof. Yu Ying-shih

To celebrate the 65th anniversary of New Asia College, we have invited Prof. Yu Ying-shih, world-renowned historian and former College Head to deliver the follow public lecture:

Banquet in Celebration of the 65th Anniversary of New Asia College

To celebrate the 65th anniversary of New Asia College, a banquet will be held on 5 October 2014 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. You are cordially invited to join this exclusive event and celebrate the collective achievements of the College with us.

Yu Ying-shih Lecture in History

In order to foster cultural exchange and historical research, New Asia College, Chung Chi College and the Department of History of The Chinese University of Hong Kong joined forces in 2007 to establish the "Yu Ying-shih Lecture in History". This year, we have invited Professor Huang Chin-shing from the Institute of History and Philology, Academia Sinica as the guest speaker. Professor Huang is particularly interested in the research area of Modern Intellectual History, Religious and Cultural History and Historiographical Theory.

The 12th Seminar on Chinese Moral Education

The Seminar on Chinese Moral Education aims to promote Chinese traditional virtues and moral education to the younger generations and has been co-organized by New Asia College, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Beijing Oriental Morality Institute since 2002. Each summer, a group of primary and secondary school principals, teachers and education professionals from different parts of China attend a series of seminars, discussion forums and visits related to moral education during the 8-day programme at the College. Starting this year, the Seminar has been expanded to include the Primary School Group and the Secondary School Group, with around fifty participants in each group. The two groups are generously sponsored by Tin Ka Ping Foundation and trustee, Dr. Chan Chi Sun.

The Seminar on Traditional Chinese Culture 2014

Organized by the High School Education Committee of the Chinese Society of Education, the "Seminar on Traditional Chinese Culture" has been held since 2000. The Seminar is sponsored by the Su-Shu-Lou Cultural & Educational Foundation, co-organized by the New Asia College and Hong Kong and Traditional Chinese Culture Research Council as well as implemented by New Asia Middle School.

New Asia College/Yale University Summer Community Service Exchange

New Asia College and Yale-China Association jointly established the above program in 2002/2003. The main objective is to bring together students from different regions for cultural exchange, and to understand different approaches in the provision of community/public services.

New Asia College / Hertford College of Oxford University Study Abroad and Cultural Exploration Programme 2014

Every year, the programme "New Asia College/Hertford College of Oxford University Study Abroad and Cultural Exploration Programme" attracts a large number of student applications, which makes it very competitive.

Summer Study Abroad at Cambridge and UC Berkeley

This scheme aims at providing students with an overseas study opportunity in a renowned university to enrich and broaden their learning experiences and deepen their understanding of different cultures.

New Asia College/Hunan University Summer Exchange Programme

This programme encourages cultural exchange between Hong Kong and mainland students. Twenty participants from Hunan University visited our College from 14 to 20 July 2014. While in Hong Kong, participants joined a number of activities, including visits to various units at CUHK, government offices and non-governmental organizations as well as attending student functions.

Yale-China/Goldman Sachs Business Challenge

The 4th annual "Yale-China/Goldman Sachs Business Challenge" was held at the College on 30 May, 2014. The program, which is jointly organized by the College, Yale-China Association and Goldman Sachs, aimed at encouraging future business leaders to devise creative solutions to social problems.

New Asia Alumni Home Coming Camp 2014

In cerebration of the 65th Anniversary of the New Asia College, the College organized the "New Asia Alumni Home Coming Camp 2014". The camp was held on 26-27 July 2014. Around 120 alumni and their friends and family members participated. The objectives of the camp were to let the alumni reminisce about their college lives, share these and family time with their family members and let alumni of different graduation years get to know each other.
