New Asia Young Scholars Scheme 2014/15 (A review of the 1st semester)

This scheme aims at providing students with whole-person education, increasing their knowledge of Chinese history and culture, and empowering them to become individuals responsible towards society as well as equipping them with qualities that contemporary intellectuals and leaders should possess.

New Asia Young Scholars Scheme 2014/15 has embarked in September 2014. 12 New Asia Young Scholar Student have participated in a series of training programmes including being College Representatives in orientation activities, attending the Banquet in Celebration of the 65th Anniversary of New Asia College, engaging in various lectures and alumni events to communicate and learn from professors, alumni and members of the Board of Trustee.

 

New Asia Young Scholar students took part in the Workshop on Communication and Presentation Skills held by renowned communication scholar, Professor Leo P.K. YAM to learn skills for speaking, communication and MC work. in September and October. On 17 October 2014, they had a lunch meeting with three New Asia College Alumni, President of the New Asia College Alumni Association Mr. Wong Ho-chiu (1968/History), Professor LAM Hon Ming from School of Life Sciences (1985/Biology) and Dr. LAM Tzit Yuen, David (1991/MBBS). New Asia Young Scholar students benefited from the discussion of New Asia College history and New Asia Spirit with alumni from different graduation years.

 

The New Asia College and New Asia Middle School Mentorship Programme was launched on 29 October 2014. Students from New Asia Young Scholars Scheme 2014/15 will impart knowledge and share experience with students from New Asia Middle School through various out- of -class means. The programme aims at improving the personal development and academic performance of the secondary school students and helping them set up and pursue lifelong goals. May it be a favourable and fruitful programme for both New Asia Young Scholar students and New Asia Middle School students.
