Mentorship Programme Inauguration Ceremony 2019/20

The Mentorship Programme jointly organised by the New Asia College and the NACAA has come to its 19th year. With the great support by the NACAA and the effort of numerous alumni enthusiastic in engaging students' participation, more than 220 alumni and students enrolled in the programme this year.

The years of graduation of the mentors ranged from 1978 to 2014, which showed that alumni in different stages of life all shared the spirit of passing the torch to the next generation. The College sincerely thanks our trustees and alumni for their enthusiasm and support.

The Inauguration Ceremony of Mentorship Programme 2019/20 was successfully held at Yun Chi Hsien in Staff Student Centre, Leung Hung Kee Building, New Asia College at 3:00 p.m. on 19 October 2019 (Saturday). A "mentor briefing session" was conducted half an hour before the ceremony for the College to introduce the programme operation to the new mentors.

During the inauguration ceremony, Head of College Professor Wong Nai-ching Henry and President of NACAA cum Trustee Mr. Anthony Yiu welcomed and spoke to the participants. Apart from thanking the mentors for their enthusiastic support, they expressed a wish that mentees would seize the opportunity to get in touch with various New Asia College people, and that mentors and mentees would become good friends and pass on the New Asia spirit. On that day, in order to recognise the unfailing and selfless support of our mentors, the College, represented by Mr. Yiu and Executive Committee Member of the Mentorship Programme cum Trustee Mr. Wong Ho-chiu, presented "long service awards", each of which comprised a certificate and a badge as souvenir, to mentors who had served for 5, 10 and 15 years.

The College has decided to organise a Career Talks Day in the coming semester (18 January 2020). The College will invite mentors to share their career experiences with more students at workshops covering various industries. Would alumni interested in signing up as mentors please watch out for the recruitment mass email to be issued every July or August. Alumni are also welcome to approach the College for enquiry anytime.
