New Asia College students of all study years and Departments are welcome to join the Mentorship Programme, which is jointly co-organised by the College and the NACAA. This year, the College invited three alumni to deliver a talk filled with useful information on career planning that suited all participants. Content of the talk covered career positioning, interpersonal skills and etiquette at workplace. A Q & A session was also conducted. The speakers were experienced human resources director and career trainer Ms. Sadia Liu, Head of Internal Affairs of Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited Mr. C.H. Tang, and former Head of Training and Development of Chong Hing Bank Mr. Jonathan Wong. They vividly presented students with insightful and brilliant ideas, many of which could not be found in textbooks or the Internet. The students benefited much from the talk and kept actively asking the speakers questions afterwards.
In the afternoon, there were nine sharing sessions and workshops, during which alumni from different professions were invited to conduct sharing on various topics such as their multi-role career life, employment tips for civil service posts and especially Administrative Officers and Executive Officers, and various details about industries including medicine, information technology, entrepreneurship, commercial banking, law, secondary education and art. The diversified content provided students with guidance in career planning. The speakers included Ms. Coco Ma, Mr. Stanley Ng, Mr. Tse Man-shing, Ms. Sara Sze, Mr. Carson Tse, Mr. Ben Cheng, Mr. Kenneth Cheng, Mr. Rick Mak, Dr. Chui Pui-chee and Dr. Timothy Cheung. The participants and the speakers enjoyed in-depth interaction during the sharing sessions.
The event was successfully concluded. The College would like to express our sincere gratitude to the speakers, mentors and alumni for their generous support and effort, and hope to organise more similar activities for our students in the future.
