VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME

UNV - Hong Kong Universities Volunteer Programme for Undergraduates

With a view to promoting youth volunteerism, the UNV-Hong Kong Universities Volunteer Programme for Undergraduates is now open for application. The Programme enables 20 local university undergraduates to participate in a 6-month volunteer assignment under the UN field units or agencies in Southeast Asia. Details are as follows:

Volunteer Assignments

Duration

Around 6 months

Locations

UN field units/ agencies in Southeast Asia

Scope

Health and education; disaster risk reduction in the area of environment; youth issues and other areas with focus on information technology.

Job Duties

Administrative support, monitoring and evaluation, communications and outreach, etc.

 

Volunteer Commitment

  • Participate in pre-departure training in Hong Kong and orientation in the duty station
  • Complete a 6-month assignment
  • Submit mid-term and final reports on the assignment
  • Participate in post-assignment de-briefing
  • Share experience and inspirations gained from the assignment

 

Fully Funded Items

  • Round trip travel costs from Hong Kong to duty station
  • Monthly living allowance
  • Health/ life insurance

 

Application Procedures

Details of the assignments and application form can be downloaded at http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/osa/sacs. One set of the following documents should be submitted to the Student Services Centre (1/F, Benjamin Franklin Centre) by 5:30 pm on 9 December 2016 (Friday):

  1. Duly-completed application form (Part II – Recommendation should be left blank)
  2. A copy of Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card
  3. A copy of CUHK Student ID Card
  4. An official/ unofficial copy of Report of Experiential Learning Activities under the Student Development Portfolio (to generate a copy, please visit www.cuhk.edu.hk/sdp/ )
  5. Copies of relevant documents and information (if any)

Late or incomplete application will not be considered. 

 

Interview

Selected candidates will be required to attend interview(s) organized by UNV.
