Dr. Zhang Meng chaired the New Asia Lectures on Contemporary China 2017-18 (Second Lecture)

The Second Lecture of "New Asia Lectures on Contemporary China", supported by the permanent sponsorship of the Dato' Wong Kwing-keung Fund, was held in the Yun Chi Hsien, New Asia College on 23 October 2017. Dr. Zhang Meng, renowned author and brand founder, was invited to give a talk on "How You Spend Your Day Is How You Spend Your Life: Insights of Effective Life Management" to share her memories growing up and her learnings on the path to both academic and professional success. The lecture was moderated by Associate Professor of Economics and Executive Director of Lau Chor Tak Institute of Global Economics and Finance of CUHK Terence Chong.

Dr. Zhang, generally known as "Meng Jie (elder sister Meng)", obtained her double degree in English Language and Economics and later her Ph.D. in Functional Linguistics and Neuroscience at the Beijing Normal University. She was the founder of LEAD Youth Leadership Foundation, the founder and CEO of Hypervic Coffee, and the author of several best-selling publications. She remarked that how people spent their leisure time was critical to what attainments they would achieve. She believed that good self-management and goal-management were the two major factors of success. By sharing her "1000 Days Little Forest Plan" and her experiences of public speaking, Meng Jie encouraged students to set targets for their future selves, and then run their corporations of "selves" well.
