Organized by the SBS Postgraduate Association, the First SBS Director's Cup – Badminton Tournament was successfully held on Saturday, 5 October 2013.

During the tournament, members of the School completed for the 'Director's Cup' - the champion trophy generously sponsored by the School Director Prof. Chan Wai-yee. The results of the tournament are listed below:

Champion
'Staff (non-theme)' Team 1. Team members included Mr. Chiu Tak-wai, Mr. Chau Chau, Mr. Chan Chung-tak, Ms. Jean L.S. Kung, and Ms. Nicole S.C. Ng.

First Runner-up
'Cancer and Inflammation' Team 2. Team members included Mr. Xiao Zhangang, Mr. Pan Wenliang, Mr. Wu Feng, Ms. Tsui Ka-ying, and Ms. Cao Ye.

Second Runner-up
'Staff (non-theme)' Team 2. Team members included Mr. Lam Hiu-tung, Mr. Jackey Wong, Mr. Chow Yee-lok, Ms. Winnie Chan, and Ms. Christina Poon.

Third Runner-up
'Reproduction, Development and Endocrinology' Team 1. Team members include Prof. Woody W.Y. Chan, Mr. Chen Junjiang, Mr. Zhang Xiaohu, Ms. Crystal Liu , Ms. Sophie Sun, and Ms. Yuan Chun.

The prize presentation ceremony was held during the SBS Postgraduate Research Day 2013 on 8 November 2013. The Champion was awarded with the Director's Cup, while the Champion, First and Second Runners-up were awarded with certificates and prizes. The Third Runner-up, together with all participants from 'Cancer and Inflammation' and 'Reproduction, Development and Endocrinology' themes were awarded with souvenirs.

The Postgraduate Student Association would like to express their gratitude to the captains and players of the teams as well as members of the School for their support and contributions to the tournament, which made the event a successful and remarkable one.
