Participants arrived at the venue according to their tee time on this fine spring day. They enjoyed the games while chatting with each other in a lovely environment.
At the dinner banquet, Head of College Professor Henry Wong Nai-ching, former President of the NAAGA Dr. Raymond Lee, and current President of the NAAGA Mr. Eric Poon took turns to deliver their welcoming remarks. Dr. Lee also related the founding of the NAAGA as he remembered it. The guests enjoyed the food and drinks alongside pleasant conversations with each other, and participated in a lucky draw that followed. A Prize Presentation Ceremony, the highlight of the evening, was held to present 21 trophies to winners of the golf contests. Our alumni Mr. Ben Ko and Miss Carol Ho won the Grand Prix of South Course and of North Course respectively.
The NAAGA is a thriving association. Apart from connecting alumni golf players by participating with excellent performance in the annual CUHK Golf Day, it also contributes considerable resources to the Alma Mater. The association has raised over HK$1 million for the College over the years, and has established two scholarships, namely the "NAAGA CUHK Golden Jubilee Golf Day Scholarship" and the "NAAGA Scholarship and Summer Exchange Scholarship", with the aims of rewarding students who perform outstandingly in sports as well as in academics, and encouraging them to broaden their horizons by stepping out into the world.
