Ten CUHK research projects were awarded the 2022/23 Collaborative Research Fund by the Research Grants Council. Among them, three NA-affiliated professors, including Professor Wang Xin, Associate Professor, Department of Surgery, Professor Ren Wei, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, and Professor Lu Xinhui, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, received the fund to support their research groups to engage in creative, high-quality, cross-disciplinary projects.
Professor Wang Xin received HK$7.52 million from the Collaborative Research Project Grant for his project titled “Multi-modal Deep Learning of Multi-omics Profiles, Radiology and Histopathology Images to Advance Colorectal Cancer Classification for Precision Oncology”. Professor Ren Wei and Professor Lu Xinhui received HK$3.95 million and HK$4.17 million from the Young Collaborative Research Grant respectively for their project titled “Developing Next-generation Mid-infrared Laser Sensors for Greenhouse Gas Monitoring” and “Fundamental-Studies-Guided Growing of High-Quality, Mechanically Stable, Reduced-Dimensional Perovskites for Scalable Flexible Optoelectronic Devices”.
