The program is open to applications in the beginning of the second semester every year. Selected students travel to the United States in May and June and work as interns in different social service agencies with the Yale students for four weeks. After the internship in the States, the New Asia and Yale students fly back to Hong Kong for another four-week internship in similar social service agencies in July.
This year, Li Ying Yee, Maggie (Public Health/3), Ling Wai Lam, Helen (English Language Education/5) and Kwok Hei Man (Medicine/2) were selected to join the community service program on mental health, education and HIV/AIDS in Hong Kong and the United States.
