New Asia College/ Yale University Summer Community Service Exchange

New Asia College and Yale-China Association jointly established the above program in academic year 2002/2003.  The main objective is to bring together students from different regions for cultural exchange, and to understand different approaches in the provision of community/public services.  Dr. Wong King Kwok, Raymond generously sponsors this program.

The program is open to applications in the beginning of the second semester every year.  Selected students travel to the United States in May and June and work as interns in different social service agencies with the Yale students for four weeks.  After the internship in the States, the New Asia and Yale students fly back to Hong Kong for another four-week internship in similar social service agencies in July.

This year, Li Ying Yee, Maggie (Public Health/3), Ling Wai Lam, Helen (English Language Education/5) and Kwok Hei Man (Medicine/2) were selected to join the community service program on mental health, education and HIV/AIDS in Hong Kong and the United States.
