The “New Normal” has undoubtedly exerted significant strain on the daily lives and job searching for many students. The College hopes to promote mental health awareness through this year’s talks. With the help of NACAA, we have invited Ms. Zanonia Chiu, a registered clinical psychologist, as the keynote speaker to deliver a talk titled “Coping with the pandemic: How do students cope with the pressure in study as well as job hunting in the era of ‘New Normal’?” Ms. Chiu graduated from New Asia College in 2005 with a degree in Nursing, and furthered her studies in Psychology. With multiple professional qualifications, she is an expert in emotion and stress management. She shared through this talk some suggestions on stress relief strategies in the midst of the “New Normal”.
Apart from the keynote talk, there were six career sharing sessions, where alumni from different industries shared information about their professions. Speakers include Mr. Eric Hui (civil service), Mr. Mark To (investment and finance), Mr. Kendy Lee (start-ups), Mr. Billy Cheung (virtual banking), Ms. Claudia Tsang (art administration) and Mr. Eric Tsang (film and TV advertising). The participants and the speakers enjoyed in-depth interaction during the sharing sessions.
The College owes the success of this event to the speakers, mentors and alumni for their generous support and efforts, and looks forward to organising more similar activities in the future.
