New Asia College 65th Anniversary Lecture by Prof. Yu Ying-shih

To celebrate the 65th Anniversary of New Asia College, the New Asia College 65th Anniversary Lecture by Prof. Yu Ying-shih was held in Lecture Theatre 1 of Yasumoto International Academic Park in the Chinese University of Hong Kong on 27th September this year.

It is our honor to have invited the former president of our college Prof. Yu Ying-shih who lives in the United States to be the speaker. The topic of the lecture is "New Asia College and Humanistic Studies". The lecture was broadcast live by video and was moderated by Prof Cheung H Samuel and Prof. CHEUNG Hok Ming Frederick in United States and Hong Kong respectively.

 

In the lecture, Prof. Yu pointed out that the founders of New Asia College Mr. Ch'ien Mu and Mr. Tang Junyi had a head start on the west on the academic studies of the humanities. Prof. Yu also discussed the relationship between humanistic studies and modern society and thought that young people should take on the responsibility of developing society if necessary.
