The talk was titled "Art and Life in Pre-modern China", and was moderated by Head of New Asia College Professor Wong Nai-ching Henry. The lecture was very well received by the public, and was attended by many art enthusiasts.
At the talk, Professor Yiu shared with the audience a wide variety of pre-modern Chinese paintings depicting the landscape and the way of life in that era. Most of these paintings were put on exhibition in the Art Museum of CUHK. Professor Yiu made good use of the session to show the audience dozens of pre-modern Chinese paintings from different periods, while presenting in simple words the painting techniques employed. The landscapes he displayed radiated a vigour that seemed to draw the viewers into the paintings. Professor Yiu also discussed the views of some famous art masters. Participants were deeply absorbed in the lecture, which inspired fruitful discussions between the speaker and the audience at the Q&A session.
