Embracing Growth and Finding My Second Home

When I think about my time at CW Chu College, a flood of emotions fills my heart. It's not just about the academic growth I've experienced but the incredible sense of community that has become an integral part of my life.

Stepping into Hong Kong as a newcomer, I was admittedly timid and unable to venture far from the comfort of home. The decision to move to a completely new city with its unique culture was no small feat, requiring considerable courage. Unfortunately, circumstances forced my entire first year of study to be conducted online due to the pandemic. But finally, during my second year, I had the chance to immerse myself fully in the College experience, and that's when the magic truly began.

After I came to CW Chu College, I started meeting with my fellow students. We quickly formed a tightly-knit community that has become my second family. Now, after a long day of classes and work, returning to the College feels like coming home. Spending time with my friends, engaging in lively conversations, playing board games, and venturing out to local restaurants to savour delectable cuisines recommended by them has become my cherished routine.

What truly sets our College apart is the incredible diversity and talent within its walls. Here, I've had the privilege of meeting students from different majors, cohorts, and backgrounds, each with unique stories to share. Their perspectives have opened my mind to new ways of thinking and have inspired me to explore different angles in my academic pursuits. The seniors, in particular, have been guiding lights, sharing their wisdom on handling academic pressures and offering valuable insights from their internship experiences. It's heartwarming to witness the strong bonds between students, as we all strive to support and uplift one another.

Being an active participant in the CWC community has been an essential part of my college experience. I've eagerly taken on the role of a host for various college activities, and it has been an absolute joy. Whether it was being the Vice-Chairman of the CWC Orientation Camp 2023, where I learned the true meaning of teamwork and leadership, or the Asian Cultural Night, where I had the opportunity to share my culture through delightful activities and mouthwatering food, each moment has been unforgettable.

But it's not just the activities that make CW Chu College special; it's the genuine care and support that radiates from every corner. The teachers, staff, and friends have played an instrumental role in creating a nurturing environment that truly feels like a second home. Their unwavering guidance has empowered me to grow, take risks, and make the most of my college years.

As I reflect on my College journey, I am grateful for the transformative experiences, lifelong friendships, and personal growth that CW Chu College has offered me. It has been a journey of self-discovery, cultural exploration, and finding my place in a vibrant community. I am excited for the future, knowing that the lessons learned and the connections forged within this remarkable institution will continue to shape my life in the most positive ways imaginable.

Bonded with our College

Our College offers a tightly-knit community where I have found a profound sense of belonging. Whether going on hikes with friends from the College or simply studying together in the Lanson Reading Room, these moments have been an integral part of my university life.

One of the aspects I cherish most about the College is our communal dinners. They offer a unique opportunity to meet and connect with people from diverse backgrounds. Sharing stories and experiences during these meals has enriched my understanding of the world and helped me forge lifelong friendships.

Similarly, being part of the College's tennis team is another thing I highly value. Joining the weekly practice sessions not only provided me an opportunity to hone my skills but also to form strong bonds with my teammates, bonds that extend beyond the court.

Additionally, CW Chu College offers numerous academic and cultural activities that help broaden your horizons and meet new people. From engaging lectures and workshops to cultural festivals, there is always something to get involved in. It's these experiences that make CW Chu College a truly special place to live and learn.
