The New Asia Young Scholars Scheme 2018/19 officially commenced in September 2018. Ten New Asia Young Scholar Students participated in a series of events, including various College Meetings, talks and alumni activities, to communicate and learn from professors, alumni and trustees of the College.
Following the first semester's diversified activities, including "Communication and Emcee Skills Workshop – Communication, the Essential First Step", sharing session on Chinese zither regimen, and sitting in at College internal meetings, a series of activities were also held for the participants in the second semester.
The New Asia Young Scholar Students had the opportunities to lunch and exchange with speakers and professors after various College Lectures, and with New Asia alumni of different generations on other occasions. They also had the chance to be the emcees at the Chinese New Year Party.
Professor Ho Man-wui Richard, Dr. Ng Kai-chiu and Dr. Chui Pui-chee were again invited this year as voluntary mentors to chair sharing sessions on Chinese literature and language, philosophy, and calligraphy respectively. Moreover, Dr. Joseph Ting Sun-pao and our trustee Mr. Wong Ho-chiu led our students on a four-day historical visit to Xiamen and Kinmen in the first semester, and visited temples including Kaiyuan Temple, Qingjing Mosque and South Putuo Temple during their stay.
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the College, students of this year's scheme participate in organising an exhibition on the College's history. The exhibition is to be held at the New Asia Middle School from late September to early December this year.
