New Asia College Mentorship Programme Inauguration Ceremony & the "Personal Development Talk and Workshops"

The New Asia College Mentorship Programme 2014/15 Inauguration Ceremony was held on 1 November 2014 in the New Asia Gymnasium. Over 220 friends of New Asia, alumni and students participated. This year, the numbers of mentors and mentees are 86 and 203 and the College would like to thank friends and alumni for their fantastic support.

Mentoring is a process for the informal transmission of knowledge, experience and psychological support perceived by the recipient as relevant to personal growth and professional development. Mentees have the chance to look beyond the classroom and learn from mentors who are professionals and experts from different walks of life. The programme also allows our alumni mentors to give back to their alma mater by serving as role models and leaders. It is hoped that they can help this generation of students see their way to reaching their goals.

The "Personal Development Talk and Workshops" for all mentees were held on the 10 January 2015. The talk in the morning was entitled "A Day in the Life of Superman – S.O.S. (Strategizing, Organizing, Sustaining)". The speaker is Ms. Antonia Yeung, founder of a training institution as well as alumna of CUHK. Mentees shared their views on their difficulties in time management and were guided to review their personal values and to look for better solutions. The topics of the two workshops in the afternoon were "Enneagram: Knowing yourself and career orientation" and "NLP Communication Skills".  We hope these workshops will help mentees to better understand their personal characteristics and improve their communication skills.

If you are alumni of New Asia College and would like to become a mentor, please keep an eye on the recruitment emails sent out by the college in July or August every year. You are most welcome to contact us for details.
