Mentoring is a process for the informal transmission of knowledge, experience and psychological support perceived by the recipient as relevant to personal growth and professional development. Mentees have the chance to look beyond the classroom and learn from mentors who are professionals and experts from different walks of life. The programme also allows our alumni mentors to give back to their alma mater by serving as role models and leaders. It is hoped that they can help this generation of students see their way to reaching their goals.
The "Personal Development Talk and Workshops" for all mentees were held on the 10 January 2015. The talk in the morning was entitled "A Day in the Life of Superman – S.O.S. (Strategizing, Organizing, Sustaining)". The speaker is Ms. Antonia Yeung, founder of a training institution as well as alumna of CUHK. Mentees shared their views on their difficulties in time management and were guided to review their personal values and to look for better solutions. The topics of the two workshops in the afternoon were "Enneagram: Knowing yourself and career orientation" and "NLP Communication Skills". We hope these workshops will help mentees to better understand their personal characteristics and improve their communication skills.
