The said summit is an annual event initiated by Professor Muhammad Yunus, Founder of Grameen Bank and Nobel Peace Laureate. As a global leading forum for social business, the summit aims to enhance awareness of the subject matter, foster discussion and collaboration amongst practitioners and stakeholders, as well as promote and develop the best practice. The year, the summit is themed "Building a New Civilization".
At the "Young Challengers & Pioneers Meeting" of the summit, participants had a fruitful exchange with the young social entrepreneurs worldwide. They were also inspired by how social business can be adopted to address a variety of social issues, e.g. mobility, solidarity, sports, foods, plastic and circular economy, to create a better future.
After the summit, the delegation visited the "Kitchen Hub" in Berlin, which is a social innovative project run by the non-government organisation Über den Tellerrand. The project aims at integrating the refugees into the society through cooking activities.
This Germany trip offered a rewarding experience to participants to learn about different social business ideas of the young social entrepreneurs around the world. It has also laid a foundation for future collaboration between Yunus Social Business Centre@CUHK and their counterparts in different regions.
