CUHK-Malaysian Student Cultural Exchange Programme (2019)

The Chinese University of Hong Kong will collaborate with three Malaysian University Colleges to organise the 4th CUHK-Malaysian Student Cultural Exchange Programme. The 14-day programme will take place from 2 June to 15 June 2019. The programme is made possible with the donation from Mr. Lim Soon Tiong.

Purpose: To facilitate the cultural exchange between Hong Kong and Malaysian students and to broaden their horizons

 

Participating Malaysian Institutions

·         Southern University College (Johor Bahru)

·         New Era University College (Kajang)

·         Han Chiang University College of Communication (Penang)

 

Eligibility for Application (Quota: 19)

1.    Current undergraduate students with good performance

2.    With leadership skills and passion in learning foreign culture

3.    Have excellent command of English and Chinese

4.    Must be able to speak Putonghua

 

Activity Details

1.    The 14-day programme consists of activities in Hong Kong and Malaysia.

2.    Through various activities and by living together, participants will have in-depth exchange with each other and experience cultural differences.

3.    The programme covers cultural activities, visits to companies and organisations, seminars and sightseeing tours.

4.    All participants must reside in the hostels arranged by the organisers.

5.    CUHK participants shall act as ambassadors and help taking care of Malaysian participants, especially in the trip in Hong Kong.

Fee

HK$1,800 (Successful applicants will be notified to pay the fee in early April.)

 

Notes on Application

2.    Applicants shall submit a hardcopy of the completed application form to the Learning and Cultural Enhancement Section, Office of Student Affairs at 1/F, Benjamin Franklin Centre, AND a softcopy to lces@cuhk.edu.hk.

3.    Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview between 25 March and 29 March 2019.

4.    Successful applicants must attend the briefing sessions of the programme.

5.    Application deadline: 15 March 2019 (Friday)
