The summer family activities included three interest classes: Chinese Calligraphy (7 August), Balloon Twisting (14 August) and Magic (21 August). We were delighted to have invited three professionals to conduct the classes, including our alumnus and renowned Chinese Calligrapher Dr. Chui Pui-chee; an international champion of balloon twisting – Mr. Jacky Leung, and the household Magician and Children Entertainer – Marvin Gor Gor. Three classes were distinguished in different aspects: Chinese Calligraphy enriched our historical knowledge and self-cultivation; Balloon Twisting brought family members together; Magic aroused curiosity and surprise.
All classes were designed in such a way that every step required cooperation of all family members. The families enjoyed their time very much.
After the class, some alumni and their children visited the New Asia Concourse, during which the children found their parents’ names on the plaques there. All families enjoyed their time on the campus.
It was rare to see the happy faces of kids amidst the pandemic. The College hopes to provide opportunities for alumni to enjoy their time with their children and to strengthen their relationships. We shall definitely explore more possibilities for family gatherings in the future.
