During the visit, Prof. Burbach was first led to visit the Core Laboratories and Animals Holding Facilities of our School. Afterwards, he was arranged to have meetings with members of respective Thematic Research Programs (TRPs) to explore opportunities for research collaboration between the two parties. To conclude his visit, Prof. Burbach gave a talk on "Neurobiology and Pathogenesis of Autism" to our School members.
Indeed, Prof. Burbach was one of the UU delegation members who attended the Opening Ceremony of CUHK-UU Joint Centre for Language, Mind and Brain cum Symposium on the Neurogenetics of Language and Cognition. Our School members including Prof. Chan Wai-yee, School Director, Prof. Andrew M.L. Chan, member of our Cancer & Inflammation Program, and Prof. Richard Choy, Associate Member of our Reproduction, Development and Endocrinology Program will be supporting this joint establishment to varied degrees.
This collaborative effort has also been covered by the CUHK Communications and Public Relations Office, CUHK Information Services Office, and a local newspaper, respectively.
