I·CARE Salon (17th Session): A Hundred Year's Reflection towards 1919

The I·CARE Salon had its 17th session successfully held on the 12th of this month drawing an attendance of over 170 students, staff, alumni as well as members from the public.

The talk titled A Hundred Year's Reflection towards 1919 was presided by Prof. Zhu Xueqin from the Department of History in Shanghai University.  He shed light on a number of key turning points of China's social thoughts in the recent two centuries, and delineated how they had moulded the trend of the social development in China.  The subsequent Q&A session was filled with many audiences' questions and views, and had brought to everyone a fruitful and meaningful evening.

I·CARE Salon is one of the programmes under the University Lecture on Civility which offers a platform for exchange of insights on significant academic, cultural and social issues.  This academic year's programme has come to an end for now.  Stay tuned for our announcements about the I·CARE Salon of next academic year.
