We will soon depart from Windows 10. Are you ready?

What is happening?

  • On October 14, 2025, Microsoft will no longer provide technical support, feature updates or security updates for Windows 10.
  • Upgrading to Windows 11 by October 2025 is essential from a cybersecurity and data privacy perspective.
  • Windows 11 is a no-charge upgrade and is already in use by some departments/units on campus.

What do you need to do?  

  1. Hardware/Application Compatibility Check

    Ensure your PC meets the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11. Please consider PC replacement if it is not compatible.
  1. Backup Important Data

    Backup important data to external/cloud storage, such as OneDrive, before upgrading.
  1. Perform the Upgrade

    The upgrading process can be in-place upgrade or migrating data to new machine pre-loaded with Win 11 OS image.
