We will soon depart from Windows 10. Are you ready?
What is happening?
- On October 14, 2025, Microsoft will no longer provide technical support, feature updates or security updates for Windows 10.
- Upgrading to Windows 11 by October 2025 is essential from a cybersecurity and data privacy perspective.
- Windows 11 is a no-charge upgrade and is already in use by some departments/units on campus.
What do you need to do?
- Hardware/Application Compatibility Check
Ensure your PC meets the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11. Please consider PC replacement if it is not compatible.
- Backup Important Data
Backup important data to external/cloud storage, such as OneDrive, before upgrading.
- Perform the Upgrade
The upgrading process can be in-place upgrade or migrating data to new machine pre-loaded with Win 11 OS image.
