Following the first semester's diversified activities, including "Communication and Emcee Skills Workshop – Communication, the Essential First Step", Image Building Workshop, Chinese Arts workshop and sitting in at College internal meetings, a series of activities were also held for the participants in the second semester.
The New Asia Young Scholar Students had the opportunities to lunch and exchange with speakers and professors after various College Lectures, and with New Asia alumni of different generations on other occasions. They also had the chance to be the emcees at the Chinese New Year Party 2018.
Dr. Chui Pui-chee, Professor Ho Man-wui Richard and Professor Ng Kai-chiu were again invited this year as voluntary mentors to chair sharing sessions on calligraphy, Chinese literature and language, and philosophy respectively. Moreover, Dr. Joseph Ting Sun-pao and our trustee Mr. Wong Ho-chiu led our students on a four-day historical visit to Taipei in the first semester, and visited Chien Mu House (Su Shu House) during their stay. Our students benefited enormously from the tour.
Besides, to enable teachers and students from every corner of the world to experience and learn about traditional Chinese festive culture together, and to inspire more New Asia students to pass on the New Asia Spirit, the New Asia Young Scholars 2017/18 specially organised the "Lunar New Year Lantern Carnival in New Asia" at New Asia Amphitheatre and the path leading to Chi'en Mu Library on 28 February 2018. This Lantern Carnival attracted the participation of many teachers, alumni, and local and international students, and all of them enjoyed a wonderful evening.
