Upcoming New Asia College Academic and Cultural Lecture Series

A. New Asia College Cultural Talks

Originated in 1950, the New Asia College Cultural Talks, with speakers being mostly College teaching staff members including prestigious scholars from the Mainland like Mr. Ch'ien Mu, Mr. Tang Chun-i and Mr. Tchang Pi-kai, aimed to encourage the public to learn about Chinese culture and global academic knowledge, and to consider the future of humanity. Jointly organised by the New Asia College and the New Asia College Alumni Association (NACAA) and co-organised by the New Asia Middle School, "New Asia College Cultural Talks" comrpises a total of three to four talks each year. Details of the upcoming talks are as follows:

First Lecture:

Topic: Macro History of China from a Macro Geographical perspective --- Starting from Mongolia Plateau

Speaker: Dr. CHAN Man-hung

Date: 20 October 2018 (Saturday)

B. New Asia Lectures on Contemporary China

 

Sponsored by the Dato' Wong Kwing-keung Fund, the first lecture of the New Asia Lecture Series on Contemporary China 2018/19 will be held in October, with Professor Wu Dui of the Institute of Mass Spectrometer and Atmospheric Environment of Jinan University as the guest speaker. Details of the lecture are as follows:

C. New Asia Lectures on Confucianism

 

Sponsored by the Moonchu Foundation, the Fifth New Asia Lectures on Confucianism will be held in October 2018, with Professor Yang Guorong being our speaker. Professor Yang is currently a professor of the Philosophy Department and the Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of the East China Normal University. Details of the lectures are as follows:

Topic: Confucianism and Pragmatism
