OnePass Password Expiry

Implementation & Improvement of the Policy
The authentication data flow has been reviewed and service monitoring has also been enhanced to improve service availability.

Besides, the 180-day password policy endorsed by the University IT Governance Committee (ITGC) was first implemented in Sep 2015 for the sake of security. With feedback collected from ITSC Student User Consultation Committee, student survey and service desk, ITGC further endorsed to extend the expiry period from 180 days to 400 days effective from 17 Aug 2016.

Student Notebook Ownership Programme

Review and Improvement in Product Selection Process
Reviews and discussions have been conducted with University, college and postgraduate student unions to enhance the product selection workflow and to introduce different products.

University Firewall

Introduction of University-wide Firewall
All university computers are protected by firewall and are undergoing regular vulnerability scanning. About 8% of them (such as web and email servers) need to be exposed to the outside world and are placed in untrusted zone (DMZ). They are further protected by an even more restricted security policy.

Hostel WiFi

In-room WiFi Implementation in 30 Student Hostels
Collaborating with Student Hotel Management, student hostels in Chung Chi College, New Asia College, United College, Shaw College, Postgraduate Halls, iHouse and Prince of Wales Hospitals have their own dedicated routers in rooms which improve WiFi stability and speed

Launch of OneDrive for Business & Office 365 ProPlus
More services such as email and SharePoint will be introduced in 2016-17.

Supporting the Launch of New HR System, CUPIS
The legacy HR system has been replaced by a new ERP system called CUPIS, which facilitates payment checking, leave application and etc..

All stakeholders can access to their project accounts for direct financial operation.
