The authentication data flow has been reviewed and service monitoring has also been enhanced to improve service availability. Besides, the 180-day password policy endorsed by the University IT Governance Committee (ITGC) was first implemented in Sep 2015 for the sake of security. With feedback collected from ITSC Student User Consultation Committee, student survey and service desk, ITGC further endorsed to extend the expiry period from 180 days to 400 days effective from 17 Aug 2016. |

University Firewall | Introduction of University-wide Firewall
All university computers are protected by firewall and are undergoing regular vulnerability scanning. About 8% of them (such as web and email servers) need to be exposed to the outside world and are placed in untrusted zone (DMZ). They are further protected by an even more restricted security policy.
