The Inauguration Ceremony of Mentorship Programme 2017-18 was successfully held at the New Asia Gymnasium in Staff Student Centre, Leung Hung Kee Building on 14 October 2017. A "mentor briefing session" was conducted half an hour before the ceremony for the College to introduce the programme structure to the new mentors. In addition, we invited Mr. Frankie Chow, a mentor with two years' experience and an executive member of NACAA and Mr. Abraham Yam, a young mentor, to share their experiences of being new mentors and of learning from experienced senior mentors.
During the inauguration ceremony, Head of College Professor Henry Wong and President of NACAA Mr. Anthony Yiu welcomed and spoke to the participants. Apart from thanking the enthusiastic support of the mentors, they expressed a wish that mentees would seize the opportunity to get in touch with various New Asia College people, and that mentors and mentees would become good friends and pass on the New Asia spirit. In order to recognise the unfailing and selfless support of our mentors, the College, represented by Professor Wong and Mr. Yiu, presented "long service awards", each of which comprised a certificate and a badge as souvenir, to mentors who had served for 5, 10 and 15 years.
Would alumni interested in signing up as mentors please watch out for the recruitment mass email to be issued every July or August. Alumni are also welcomed to approach the College for enquiry anytime.
