This year, the College invited former Head of Training and Development of Chong Hing Bank Mr. Jonathan Wong, a New Asia College alumnus, to deliver a talk filled with useful information on career planning that suited all participants. Content of the talk covered career positioning, interpersonal skills and etiquette at workplaces. He vividly presented students with insightful and brilliant ideas, many of which could not be found in textbooks or the Internet. The students benefited much from the talk.
After the talk, there were seven sharing sessions and workshops, during which alumni from different professions were invited to conduct sharing on various topics, and the diversified content provided students with guidance in career planning. The speakers were Mr. Suen Kwok-wing, Ms. Cassie Cheuk, Mr. Ivan Wong, Mr. Frankie Chow, Ms. Jo Ng, Mr. Harold Ng, Mr. Eric Tsang and Mr. Aaren Lam. The participants and the speakers enjoyed in-depth interaction during the sharing sessions.
To provide an occasion for mentors and mentees to gather before Lunar New Year and to thank the mentors for their selfless contribution, the College arranged a new poon choi (big bowl feast) dinner at Yun Chi Hsien after the Career Talks. Over 90 mentors and mentees attended the banquet. It had been a long time since the mentors and the mentees last met, and as soon as the dinner started, each table was filled with happy chatter in a warm atmosphere. The participants welcome the arrival of the Year of the Rat with each other’s blessing.
The event was successfully concluded. The College would like to express our sincere gratitude to the speakers, mentors and alumni for their generous support and effort, and hope to organise more similar activities for our students in the future.
