Chairman of the New Asia College Board of Trustees Mr. Charles Leung, Head of College Professor Henry Wong Nai-ching and Chairman of the NACAA Mr. Yiu Chun-hong took turns to deliver their welcoming remarks, thanked alumni and various members of society for supporting the College, and wished that they would continue to support all activities of 70th Anniversary celebrations. The College also staged a cheque presentation ceremony to express its gratitude to six donors who attended the party for their generous donations and enthusiastic support last year. The dinner party commenced with a toasting ceremony.
This year, the College and the NACAA invited the New Asia Chorus to perform two songs, namely "The Moon Represents My Heart" (in Chinese) and "Stand by Me" (in English). College Trustee Mr. Bill Lam Wing-tak and Mr. Lawrence Tsui Po-fung, member and lead singer respectively of the NA 1973 Band, were also invited to perform a series of well-known pop songs. The appearance of the Band's secret guest, Chairman of the New Asia College Board of Trustees Mr. Charles Leung, marked the climax of the show. The trio presented two inspirational Cantonese classics, "Under the Lion Rock" and "Friends", to which all guests sang along in a warm atmosphere.
A lucky draw then followed, and winners went home with their hands full of fabulous prizes sponsored by friends of the College and of the NACAA. The College then helped guests take small group photos on the stage before the end of the party.
The College would like to thank the NACAA, College staff and students for their cooperation and hard work in bringing about the successful conducting of the party, which formed part of the series of alumni events for the College's 70th Anniversary. The College wishes that our alumni and friends would continue to participate in other College events together in the future.
