【Staff Engagement】Three Activities Organized by the Staff Association

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 earlier this year, most activities or events of the College were suspended. As the epidemic situation has stabilized lately, the Staff Association organized a number of activities for members.

In June: Western Calligraphy Workshop
Targeting beginners, the Western Calligraphy Workshop was held on 25 June 2022. Each participant received a material pack which included a dip pen, ink and writing paper. At the beginning of the workshop, instructor Ms. June Yeung demonstrated how to write alphabets with a dip pen. After some practice, Ms. Yeung taught us how to polish the letters by modifying the way of writing and adding elements around the letters. Towards the end of the workshop, participants were asked to design their own agate stones by writing letters and drawing on them. They all enjoyed the time and found the workshop very fulfilling.

In July: Woodwork Workshop
The Woodwork Workshop was organized on 15 July 2022 which attracted a group of participants who were interested in wooden crafts. In the workshop, instructors shared some basic knowledge about woodwork. Participants were then given the opportunity to make their own wooden chairs with the instruction and demonstration from the experienced instructors. After the 2-hour workshop, all participants were so excited with their handmade wooden chairs!

At August: Parent and Child Haircut Class
To encourage staff members to spend the summer holiday with their children and to learn something new for self-development, the College Staff Association organized the Parent and Child Haircut Class on 21 August 2022. Professional hair stylists were invited to share with participants some basic haircut skills, for boys’ and girls’ hair respectively. During the class, parents also had the chance to DIY children haircut. The instructors demonstrated to the participants and provided advice right away to the parents. At the end of the class, the parents were all satisfied with the new hairstyles of their children.
