Message from the Master

This inaugural Newsletter of the College communicates to members and friends of the College significant milestones reached in the past few months, as the College gears up for the arrival of students in about one year's time.

The most significant event is the formal establishment of the Assembly of Fellows, with the inaugural meeting held on 29 April 2011 attended by almost all teachers of the College. The Assembly was able to formalize much of the work already undertaken by the Preparatory Assembly up to that point, and in particular to form a number of Committees to take charge of the various tasks going forward. The College has also finalized its location, moving to a site where the flat terrain will help to contain the construction cost. Work on the site will soon commence.

Much work has already been done; much work lies ahead. We are all excited by the prospect of welcoming the first cohort of students in September 2012 — in a little over a year's time. We thank all those who have given us help and support, and look forward to working with our friends in achieving our vision.
