The Inauguration Ceremony of the programme was held on 29 October afternoon at Yun Chi Hsien. As a pandemic control measure, the number of participants was limited and two Ceremony sessions were arranged at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. respectively. A briefing session for mentors explaining programme details was also held half an hour before the Ceremony.
College Head Prof. Hector Sun-On Chan and Chairman of NACAA Ms. Wong Chui-hung Anny gave their welcoming speeches in the Ceremony. Not only expressing gratitude for the mentors’ support, Prof. Chan and Ms. Wong also encouraged students to grasp the meaning of New Asians and New Asia spirit, to build friendships with mentors, and to inherit good practice of the College.
Long service awards were presented to mentors who have been serving the programme for more than five years, while a specially prepared “Long Service Award for Senior Mentor” trophy was presented to Mr. Lau Chor-yuen George (90/Journalism and Communication) and Ms. Chung Mei-yee (78/History) who served the programme for 20 years. Both of them gave short speeches sharing their mentoring experiences.
The College has scheduled a Career Talks Day for the programme on 14 January 2023. A number of workshops will be held, with mentors sharing their expertise with students. If alumni would like to serve the programme as mentors, please stay tuned to College recruitment email in July or August.
