Delegation from Stanford University
Starting from autumn 2019–20, CUHK will partner with Stanford University to launch the Bing Overseas Studies Program (BOSP). Stanford students who join the BOSP will have the opportunity to affiliate with one of the nine colleges in CUHK. To explore CUHK's academic coursework offerings, residential education, extracurricular activities and support for students, Stanford University made two in-depth site visits to CUHK, and the College was one of their stops during their visit in April 2018.
The College received the delegation on 6 April, comprising Prof Ramón SALDÍVAR, Burke Family Director, BOSP, Ms Shawna KNAUFF, Associate Vice Provost and Executive Director, BOSP and Mr David BOYER, Associate Director, BOSP. They joined a guided tour conducted by Prof WONG Suk Ying, Warden of the College Hostel, and Ms Melody LEE, College Secretary, to learn about the hostel environment and facilities in the College. After the tour, the guests met Prof Wai-Yee CHAN, College Master, who together with Prof WONG, introduced the college system of CUHK, student activities and college life at the College to them. They were impressed that the College and its student associations put efforts in organising various kinds of activities, such as Cultural Nights and Toastmasters Club Taster Sessions, to enhance interactions among students from different origins and cultural backgrounds.
