CUHK Delegation Visits Xiamen University

A delegation led by Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), visited Xiamen University (XMU) from 23 November 2013 to strengthen academic linkage with XMU. During the visit, CUHK renewed collaboration agreement with XMU and Prof. Sung attended the Forum of World Chinese Digestion Summit.

Members of the CUHK delegation included Prof. Joseph Sung, Prof. Lau Yun-wong of the Department of Surgery, Prof. Yu Jun of the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics and several representatives from the Institute of Digestive Disease. The delegation met with Prof. Zhu Chongshi, President of XMU as well as representatives of Gastroenterology Institute of XMU to obtain information about the recent developments of XMU and used the opportunity to explore possibility of further collaboration. The academic exchange agreement between the two universities was renewed during the visit.

Prof. Sung gave a talk at the Forum of World Chinese Digestion Summit held in XMU and shared his thoughts and ideas with scholars and experts in digestive disease. The visit provided the opportunity for academic members from both universities to update each other on the latest developments and enhanced ties for future cooperation.

CUHK Vice-Chancellor Visits the University of Macau

Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of the Chinese University (CUHK) visited the University of Macau(UM) on 5 November 2013to attend the Inauguration of Hengqin Campus of UM. About 500 people, including officials from the government, university presidents of Macau and from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan joined the ceremony on the new UM campus. Prof. Sung congratulated Prof. Zhao Wei, Rector of UM on the occasion and met with many of CUHK's partners for the celebration.
