Joint Scientific Meeting on "Genomic approaches to investigate clinical phenotypes"

Jointly organized by Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G), Department of Anatomical and Cellular Pathology (ACP), Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (OVS) and School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) of the Faculty of Medicine, CUHK, the scientific meeting on "Genomic approaches to investigate clinical phenotypes" was successfully held on 28 April 2014 at the Postgraduate Education Centre, Prince of Wales Hospital. 

Prof. James R. Lupski, The Cullen Endowed Chair and Professor, Department of Molecular and Human Genetics, Baylor College of Medicine, U.S.A. was invited to give a keynote lecture during the meeting. Prof. Zhang Feng, Professor, School of Life Sciences, Fudan University, Prof. Lo Kwok-wai, Professor, ACP, CUHK and Prof. Calvin C.P. Pang, S.H. Ho Professor of Visual Sciences & Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, OVS, CUHK were also invited to give talks at the meeting.

Prior to attending the joint meeting, Prof. Lupski, who has been one of the members of our School's Scientific Advisory Committee, visited our School and the facilities set up in the Lo Kwee-Seong Integrated Biomedical Sciences Building, and had a meeting with Prof. Chan Wai-yee, School Director. 

The joint scientific meeting provided an effective platform for participants to exchange views and ideas on genome research. It also deepened our research collaboration with other clinical departments at the University and also with overseas institutions.
