The delegation met with Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Henry Wong, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; representatives from the Institute of Digestive Diseases including Prof. Francis Chan, the Director; Prof. Yu Jun,, Prof. Wong Wai-sun and Prof. Cheng Sze-lok; and Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China) to understand the development and accomplishment in the field of medicine of CUHK. During the meeting, both parties also discussed how to promote research collaboration between Mainland China and Hong Kong. Thereafter, the delegation visited the Institute of Digestive Diseases to obtained more information about the latest development of the Institute's research projects.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity for the delegation to gain knowledge of the development of CUHK, especially in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology. It also established relationship and nurtured friendship between the two parties.

The Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation (HLHL) is founded in 1994 with the generous support by The S.H. Ho Foundation Limited, Dr. Leung Kau-kui, Dr. Ho Tim, and Wei Lun Foundation Limited in Hong Kong. The foundation annually bestows prizes upon excellent Chinese scholars in science and medical fields. Prof. Joseph Sung received the HLHL Advancement Prize for his outstanding research achievement in digestive disease in 2011.
