| Animal Handling Course for SBS RPg Students | |

Being part of the curriculum of the M.Phil.-Ph.D. Programme in Biomedical Sciences, our Graduate Education Team and the Core Laboratories Team coordinated with the Laboratory Animal Services Centre (LASEC) of the Faculty of Medicine to arrange a special lecture on animal handling skills on 26 October 2012. During the lecture, Dr. Dewi K. Rowlands, Scientific Officer of LASEC, shared with our postgraduate students his knowledge on animal ethics and appropriate animal handling skills, and introduced to them the available facilities in LASEC. On 14 November 2012 and 21 November 2012, Dr. Rowlands hosted two practical sessions in order to give our postgraduate students and technicians hands-on demonstrations on the correct acclimatisation and handling of mice and rats, as well as injection techniques.
