In the early days of the Republic of China, it was a publication of the Republican Party and the Progressive Party, and once promoted Yuan Shikai's restoration. In 1927, it was changed to "National Daily". It was later changed back to the original name. During the Anti-Japanese War, it was controlled by the Collaborationist Chinese Army.
