A delegation led by Prof. Chen Ying, Associate Vice-President of Zhejiang University (ZJU) and Dean of Ocean College, visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 24 August 2015. A joint seminar was held during the visit to discuss on collaboration opportunity in Marine Biology and Ocean Engineering.
The delegation met with Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Isabella Poon; Associate-Vice-President Prof. Gordon Cheung; Prof. Cheung Wai-man, Chairman of Department of Decision Sciences and Managerial Economics; Prof. Lin Hui, Director of Institute of Space and Earth Information Science, and academic members from Faculty of Science and Earth System Science Program. Representatives from both universities gave presentations on their research work and discussed further opportunities in joint projects and interdisciplinary collaborations.
ZJU is one of the major partners of CUHK. The partnership was established since 1991 and has been developed in a wide range of projects in research collaboration and student exchange programmes. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Joseph Sung led a delegation to visit to ZJU in June this year and met with the senior members of ZJU to enhance linkage. Subsequent to the visit, the joint research seminar was held to further strengthened the ties between the two universities, expanding to new level of collaboration in new research areas.
